What Does Scouting Cost?

Compared to other youth activities, Scouting is one of the most economical programs available!  Costs for a full 12-months of Scouting are $160. Plus with optional fundraising and available Scouterships it’s possible to have no out of pocket costs.  The full breakdown of costs is listed below. When compared to the cost of sports and many other activities, there is no doubt that Scouting delivers great value to its members! 

National Membership Costs $80

The annual registration fee is $75, prorated for the calendar year. There is a one-time joining fee of $25. For only $15 for the year, Cub Scouts may optionally subscribe to Scout Life magazine.

Council Registration - $80

This fee supports the local council which includes all of the Packs and Troops in the area. This fee covers facilities, camps, insurance, and supports all of the Scouting units in the area.

Pack Fundraising

Our annual popcorn sale supports our local Pack and cover the costs of our meetings, supplies, and awards. Our pack provides each Scout with a neckerchief, handbook, insignia, and covers the cost of all awards and achievements earned throughout the year.
