What We Do

At the heart of Scouting are hands-on, interactive activities.  In Cub Scouts, there are opportunities to spend time as a family and to do things that help build upon the Scout Oath and Scout Law as we follow the Cub Scout Trail

Pack and Den Meetings

In den meetings and pack meetings, Cub Scouts make new friends, play purposeful games, and learn new things. Dens usually meet two times a month.

The Den Meeting is the most important part of Cub Scouting. It is where Cub Scouts build friendships, work together to learn new things, and progress towards earning their common badge of rank.

The pack meeting brings all of the dens in the pack together for the purposes of recognizing the achievements of the Cub Scouts, communicating information about upcoming events, and providing a program that enriches the Cub Scouting experience. It helps the Cubs realize their den is part of a larger organization.

Camping and Outdoor Adventures

Cub Scout families have opportunities to go camping and to participate in outdoor adventures. Lessons learned in the out-of- doors help to develop a life-long respect for the environment.

Each rank in Cub Scouting has Adventures that take Cub Scouts outdoors. From a one foot hike to a five mile hike Cub Scouts learn about their natural surroundings.

We also conduct overnight campouts. A pack overnight campout can be a great way to get to know the families in the pack and to work on outdoor adventures. We have a Fall, Winter (in a cabin!), Spring and Summer overnight camping trip as well as a resident summer camp in the North Woods!

Special Pack Events

Pack 451 organizes several special events throughout the year including Pinewood Derby, Bike Rally, Blue and Gold Banquet and several service projects.

Doing service projects together is one way that Cub Scouts keep their promise “to help other people.” While a Scout should do their best to help other people every day, a group service project is a bigger way to help people. While you’re giving service, you’re learning to work together with others to do something that’s good for your community.

Pack 451 also participates in Council events with other Packs in the same area. Our Council organizes summer day camps, shooting sports, and other opportunities to Scout around!
