Wolf Cub Scout Rank Patch

Wolf Cub Scouts (2nd Grade)

Wolf is the Cub Scout program for girls and boys in 2nd grade. The Wolf Cub Scout requirements encourage them to be more independent and to start learning more about outdoor adventures and service.

Cub Scouting is all about adventure!  To earn their rank badge, Cub Scouts complete seven “adventures,” which are collections of themed, multidisciplinary activities.  They also complete safety exercises.  Below, you’ll find the exact requirements. Wolf Cub Scouts are second graders. Cub Scout Wolf rank requirements include topics such as hiking, playing games, communication skills, and our duty to our country.

Wolf Cub Scouts is the beginning of what we hope will become a lasting relationship between your Scout and the Boy Scouts of America.

The Wolf Cub Scout program is designed to involve your Scout in a group of kids his or her own age where they can earn status and recognition. There your Scout will also gain a sense of personal achievement from the new skills learned.

  • For the Call of the Wild adventure, Wolf Cub Scouts go camping, learn some Scout skills, think about being prepared for outdoor adventure, and learn about Leave No Trace.
  • For the Council Fire adventure, Wolves learn about being a member of a community. They plan a service project, look for ways they can help in their area, and actively participate in making their community better.
  • For the Footsteps of Faith adventure, Wolves visit a religious monument and create a display about their trip. They also explore other aspects of faith.
  • For the Howling at the Moon adventure, Wolves practice their communication skills by creating a skit and performing it at a pack campfire program.
  • For the Paws on the Path adventure, Wolf Cub Scouts learn about safe hiking, being good stewards of the environment, and maps. They also go hiking and observe signs of wildlife.
  • For the Running with the Pack adventure, Wolf Cub Scouts play catch, practice balancing, play a sport, and explore other physical skills. They also learn about the importance of a balanced diet.
